Our Alumni
Our very organization was founded by the generous donation of one of our alumni; we are proud to have such strong relationships between the working business community and our aspiring members interested in finance.
Over the past few years, GIMG alumni have gone on to work in a variety of fields, including investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, sales and trading, equity research, investment management, and consulting.
Our Founder
Rick Rieder
BBA Class of ‘83
Chief Investment Officer and Global Head of Fixed Income, Managing Director
BlackRock
In 2011, Mr. Rieder made a generous donation to the Goizueta business school with one purpose in mind: to start a student-managed undergraduate investment fund that is able to use their resources and abilities to give back to the community. This vision was eventually brought to life through the efforts of our Co-Founders Corey Moore (BBA ‘12) and Shawn Shivalkar (BBA’11), who teamed up with the BBA administration to launch GIMG.
Since then, Mr. Rieder has consistently supported our club throughout the years. In 2014, he was invited to speak to the Goizueta Business School to speak to our club members and to the finance community as a whole. In 2015, he assisted us in launching our GIMG Fixed Income Fund, which is still active today and has grown massively since. Most recently, Mr. Rieder joined us for our 10-year anniversary, speaking on macro events and fixed income strategies. Mr. Rieder still serves as a board member of Emory University, the Goizueta Business School, and Emory Investment Management, which is responsible for managing Emory’s $7.8 billion endowment. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee and retains his role as the Chairman of GIMG.
